Joshua Carson -
Drums, Percussion

Joshua Carson has been performing music since he was nine years old and has been playing drums since the age of fourteen. After years playing rock and roll during high school and college in various bands, he became interested in fusion and jazz after hearing groups such as Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra, King Crimson, and musicians Frank Zappa, Jean-Luc Ponty, Pat Metheny, and Miles Davis. Various forms of jazz have been at the center of Joshua's drumming for the last six years.
Perpetua: Meltdown
Since relocating to Newport three years ago, Joshua has been fortunate to have found two bands in which to dance with the Muse. Besides anchoring Perpetua, he also is the bandleader for Chance Planet. "The most important thing I can bring to any musical project is a solid, yet creative, rhythmic underpinning, and a deep awareness of the players with whom I share the stage."
